RCM bars are made a short drive from here in Ottawa, carry the Mint's own assay, and are the most liquid bar format in Canada. The 1 oz and 10 oz sizes dominate GTA trading; kilo bars appear less often but are equally straightforward to verify.

How we verify it
- Serial number recorded and matched to packaging where present
- Precision weight and calliper dimensions against the RCM specification
- Ultrasound testing for internal density on 10 oz and larger bars
- Surface inspection for tampering at the edges, where fakes are usually assembled
Good to know
- Small gram bars carry a proportionally higher premium; 1 oz and up is where the premium tightens.
- Assay packaging adds convenience but is not required for us to buy a bar.
